They facilitated the destruction of much of my furniture

I gave them 18 bags of blankets and linens to put around the wood furniture. They put it in the POD with the boxes. You can imagine how that worked out. If they destroy your bed, the insurance pays $25. If they destroy the whole load, the insurance pays $250. I believe theyre counting on people like me who said,Why bother? I will never use PODS or Pack and Load again. Leave your stuff in the home youre moving from. Its cheaper to buy new furniture than to move it, especially with these people.

PACK AND LOAD SERVICES is recommented by PODS on their website and both companies websites advertise to be expert packers of personnal possessions and PODS. PACK AND LOAD SERVICES subcontracts with companies/individuals they don't vet.

One of 3 people in the crew that arrived at my house was on her day off from Waffle House and had never packed before. I believe they put jobs out on something similar to Angie's List, someone is awarded the job and then day laborers are recruited for the job. I started calling to find out when the crew would arrive at 11AM. The crew arrived at 12:30PM, worked slowly, brought no paper, bubble wrap, and expected me to be OK with staying up all night.

They didn't know how to pack a POD properly and securely. I was in contact with Pack and Load all day. When I questioned the way boxes were packed or how the POD was packed, the lead guy got belligerent. At 8PM I asked them to leave.

They said to me that I was moving and it wasn't suppose to be pleasant. I am a 71 year old female, I had been up since 4AM preparing for what I thought was an 8AM arrival. All they had to pack was breakables, small appliances, pictures, and some garage items. I had packed all the rest.

After they left I had a total meltdown and cried for about 30 minutes. I then made some local calls at 9ishPM and secured a local crew to come the following day. They totally unloaded the 1st POD, repacked it, repacked boxes and totally packed the 2nd POD in 7 hours...9AM to 4PM. I was up all night, sending emails, pics, etc, to PACK AND LOAD SERVICES.

I also filed a claim for a refund on the $2,000+ I had paid them. To there credit, they issued me a full refund, but that doesn't near compensate me for my time and stress.

I don't expect any more compensation, but PODS should not recommend them AND NO ONE should use this company. Find a good local company with verifiable recommendations.

Damage due to poor packing and loading

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I used Pack and Load Service in 2018. At that time, the service was absolutely great.

After the move on July 15th, 2023, I would warn any and everyone to STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Pack and load, a once reparable company, has become one of the worst experiences ever; the poor packing and loading skills and the terrible customer service leaves much to be desired. The movers brought paper to pack my things, which was a little concerning, and was expressed. The movers response was they had years of experience and knew what they were doing.

As I watched them pack my things, with little regard, I expressed to them again; I have very valuable things that need to be packed correctly or they will break. Once again, I was met with a flippant attitude about their years of experience and knowing what they were doing. After all the boxes were pack, they began packing my pod. The pod was pack with the same disregard as the boxes, at that point I called the company to express concern that not only were the boxes packed carelessly, but so was the pod.

They didn't secure anything. I took pictures of everything. After the pod was loaded, the movers tried to coerce me to signing a waiver, which I refused and called customer service. I was informed by customer service that I was not required to sign a waiver.

I took pictures of all the documents I signed. On today, November 20th, the pod was delivered to the destination. Upon delivery, the pod was so terribly packed I can not get the door open. Calling the customer service line did nothing.

These people clearly have no respect for even repeat customers. The first customer service representative transferred me to a line that went to voicemail. The second representative, Christina, had no respect for what their company put me through.

I was already upset because no one listened to my concern during the move, and now I have to deal with the result. And, secondly no one cared or seemed concerned about what I was currently dealing with.

Negative review of PODs recommended PACK AND LOAD SERVICES INC.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Review for Pack & Load Moving Services, Inc. as recommended by PODS.

I prefer not to leave negative reviews, but in this case, it's important to share our experience.

My family had an horrendous experience with Pack & Load Moving Services, Inc.

in both Los Angeles, CA and Newark, DE and we feel compelled to share our story.

First of all, their customer service is atrocious. We reached out to them about issues that occurred during our move from California to Delaware, and the response from Christine was underwhelming, to say the least. She promised to look into our concerns and get back to us, but it took her ages to respond, and when she did, it was nothing but excuses.

Now, let me get into the heart of the matter their moving services. We engaged their services for a long-distance move, and it was a total disaster from the beginning.

GROSSLY INACCURATE VOLUME ESTIMATE: We meticulously itemized our belongings and were given an estimate for the number and size of the PODS containers we'd need. Despite our thorough planning, they somehow miscalculated, and we had to scramble to get an additional PODS container, extending the packing process by a full week. BAIT AND SWITCH TO A SURLY FOREMAN AND UNEXPECTED CHARGES: On packing day, the foreman who showed up was not the one we had spoken to previously. He not only knew nothing about our discussions but also insisted on charging us extra for packing items into boxes, which was included in our initial agreement.

Plus, his surly attitude made the situation even worse. INEFFECTIVE TEAM OF PROFESSIONALS: Their so-called "professional packers" turned out to be anything but professional. Two of them seemed clueless about proper packing techniques, leaving our belongings at risk of damage. BUNGLED HANDLING OF BABY GRAND PIANO: We specifically hired them and paid extra because they claimed to be experienced in moving a baby grand piano.

However, they mishandled it, didn't secure it properly, and left all the parts in a jumble in a box. INABILITY TO GAUGE NEEDED PACKING SUPPLIES AND MISUSE OF CLIENT TIME: They repeatedly sent us out to buy additional packing supplies, wasting our time and preventing us from overseeing their work properly. And to add insult to injury, much of the packing material we purchased was never used. HAPHAZARD PACKING RESULTING IN DAMAGED GOODS: When our items finally arrived at our new home, we were appalled by the condition they were in.

Our baby grand piano was damaged, fragile items were poorly protected, and several belongings were destroyed, including a one-of-a-kind family heirloom. UNCLEAR INVOICING: To top it all off, their billing practices are shady at best. We received no itemization for the charges made to our credit card, leaving us in the dark about where our hard-earned money went. UNSKILLED AT BABY GRAND REASSEMBLY: the unpackers were clueless with regard to moving and assembling the piano.

They didnt have a single tool for reassembly nor any ramps to deal with the stairs. Because of their incompetence, we had to spend extra money to hire a professional piano mechanic to reassemble the piano they had disassembled incorrectly. CLAIM FORMS: After contacting their customer service about the damage, they promised to send us claim forms. We had to request these several times before they were finally provided.

Our claims and request for reimbursement of the extra piano fees were almost completely denied.

In summary, our experiences with Pack & Load Moving Services, Inc. in California and Delaware were a complete nightmare.

Their lack of professionalism, unscrupulous billing practices, and overall incompetence have left us deeply dissatisfied. I strongly advise anyone considering their services to look elsewhere for a reliable and reputable moving company.

Do not use them if you dont want your furniture damaged

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Pack and Load subcontracts local crews, which would be less expensive if you do it yourself. I decided to use them to guarantee the integrity of my furniture with them loading and unloading the PODS.

They damaged a few pieces but there was one seriously damaged, the mirror broke, the back of the dresser broke, etc, because things were not properly secured in the container. I filed a claim and they say it does not proceed because they did not pack. The packing materials were there and they decided not to use them for that piece of furniture, and even if they accept the claim, they cap it at US$25, what can you fix with that?

I am never using them again I feel scammed as I could have saved 400-500 hiring somebody local myself. They are just a broker and do not guarantee their service

Pack And Load Services - You pay a premium price for a sub-par service.

I am less than happy for the less than stellar packing job that was performed by Pack and Load services for me on May 4, 2023.

According to the the Price Quote statement from Pack and Load, that I received in my email, it states the following:

Equipment List / Supplies included:

*Two-wheeled dolly

*4-wheeled dolly

*Shrink wrap

*Basic hand tools to assemble/disassemble furniture

*Moving quality tape

*Tie downs

The lead packer only provided a two-wheeled dolly, basic hand tools and a couple of straps. He did not have a 4-wheeled dolly (it would have been out-of-pocket expenses for him) or shrink wrap or moving quality tape.

I happened to have a four-wheeled dolly that they could use to move our upright piano.

We stayed out of their way so that we could let them do their work and did not notice that they did not use shrink wrap or tape. I had two tvs and provided two anti-static slip covers for the tvs, and they only ended up putting on one slip cover on one of the tvs.

For the first half of the loading, they did a descent job. However, for the second half, they seemed to just hap-hazzardly put the rest of our belongings in the POD. At one point the lead packer said that our 8 foot sofa would take up too much room, so we opted to leave it out so as to make more room for the rest of our belongings.

Then, he suggested that we leave the box springs out because he said that he could not fit it in.

My wife pointed out that if he moved a couple of items around that he could then put it in. Which he did and it fit, but instead of putting the box spring and mattress at the end of the POD like he had told us at the beginning, he ended up putting it on top of our belongings and then used two our our ratchet straps to tie it in at a downward angle, near the door.

He had trouble closing the POD door and had to have one of his helpers help pull it down.

That caused me great concern because if they had trouble pulling it down, how much trouble would I have opening the door when we get to our final destination; stuff always shifts during transport.

I am disappointed that we paid over $900 and got less than half of our moneys worth. Because of this experience with Pack and Load, I can honestly say that I will not use this service when we get to our final destination or at any other time, and I will not recommend this services to anyone.

AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

TLDR version: Unprofessional, unprepared, $$5000.00 + worth of damage. Double billed (incompetence or fraud?).

Won't take responsibility for items damaged.

Long Version: We recently used PODS for a move from NY to FL. We used 'Pack and Load Services' as they were recommended by PODS to properly move and load our items so as not to be damaged during transit. What a mistake.

On the date of the move, the 'Pack and Load Services' movers showed up 4 1/2 hours late. They told us they were sorry, "They made a wrong turn".

Two movers did finally arrived in a rented 'U-Haul' truck with no equipment. No dollies to move heavy furniture, no blankets, wrap or rope to tie the items into the POD. The above said equipment was supposed to be provided. Again, they said they were sorry, "it was a miscommunication".

The movers sent were not strong enough to carry the furniture.

They opted to drag it along the floor, mostly concrete and paved roadway. There is well over $5000.00 dollars of damage. At the end of the move the two movers wanted me to sign a waiver that they didn't damage any items during the move. When I refused to sign an argument ensued.

Very uncomfortable. Upon calling P&L Services, they directed me to their website to file a 'statement of claim'. Documentation arrived in the mail notifying us that P&L services is only liable for .60 cents per pound per item damaged with a maximum compensation of $25.00 dollars per item and a maximum of $250.00 per move. How is this legal?

I didn't sign or agree to any of this and they caused thousands of dollars worth of damage. Upon calling PODS to complain, we were told that PODS is not affiliated with any moving company they recommend. Thanks PODS, shame on you too.

Fast forward to the end of the month, credit card bill arrives and P&L services double billed us. Upon calling P&L services, they acknowledged the error and said a credit would be issued to my card.

No credit was ever received. I had to contact the credit card company to dispute the charge. The dispute is ongoing.

This entire experience has been a complete nightmare. We're currently at the phase where we're contemplating litigation to recover some of the loss.

Not sure what else to do. Hopefully this review prevents anyone else from having to experience what we went through. From the other reviews posted, I see this is not an isolated experience.

AVOID THIS COMPANY. HORRIBLE!

Poor performance, unhelpful customer service & dishonest

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Original review Jan 07, 2023

Am very disappointed in the packing and loading services provided by Pack & Load. The whole process was a cluster from the start.

Their salesperson (Chris Ford) told me that there would be a crew of four to load my Pods along with tools to dismantle beds, etc. He also told me that the crew would bring rope and shrink wrap. However, on the day of the move, only two individuals arrived with no tools, no rope, and no shrink wrap. Thankfully, I had purchased shrink wrap, moving blankets, and ratchet straps in advance of the move.

When I called customer service to inquire, I was told that there was nothing she could do to send the two additional crew members. After observing the two individuals loading the Pods, it was apparent that they were not professional movers and did not follow the loading process outlined in the May 4, 2022 email from Chris Ford. Again, I called customer service and was told that there was nothing she could do. Her only instruction to me was to wait until the Pods were unloaded at their ultimate destination and file a claim for the damages (inferring that damages would be covered in full).

She did not mention that Pack & Load limits damages to $25 per item, $250 max per move. It was extremely frustrating to watch them load the Pods, knowing that my furniture would be damaged, and that Pack & Loads process was to let it happen. I subsequently completed your customer satisfaction survey, outlining the above and received no response from anyone at Pack & Load.

I also filed a claim for damages and was told that claim was limited to $25 per item, $250 max per move. Pack and Load is not a reputable company and you should take your business elsewhere.

Stay away from their services

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

There were a variety of issues --bringing a packer who was allergic to dogs and we had two small ones; having packers who had no clue what they were doing. The guys overall were good, but the damages that were incurred in the legs of expensive furniture, lost X-mas tree bag ($700 one-year old tree), ruined bedroom set (destroyed bed frame beyond use), damaged dressers/scratches.

I can go on. We submitted our claim and kept all simple things off the list. What was their offer to resolve -- like $20 or something meaningless. Per their letter, we signed off on claims maximum in contract (yet to see that yet).

We moved out of a $1M home and was expecting better care as it went into storage and then moved in PODS. AVOID this company at all costs -- trust me.

While I loved most of the guys that did the work, wherever the damage occurred in their packing they did NOT stand behind their services. Write me at vick0806@***.com and I can tell you all about it.

Drug users stole my PS4

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Original review Sep 29, 2022

Pack and load services sent 2 guys, who arrived 6 hours late because they claimed that they were from another state and had to drive.

I had my PS4 packed in a tub between layers and layers of clothes and didn't think a thing of it.

Unfortunately, I was stupid and found the original box for it, and put it among the boxes to be loaded.

So i think the thief knew I had one and must have targeted my items for search, because I wrote my name on my tubs versus my parents boxes. I guess I made it super easy for him to find it.

They took long into the night to load up two pods containers.

As they were leaving, one of the guys came back in my house and gave me a weed joint.

I was confused why he thought I would want that, but now that I think about it, he may have felt bad because he knew the other guy stole my ps4?

idk I didn't expect surprise drugs from my mover

I put that joint down the garbage disposal, as I don't take drugs randomly given to me from strangers as a general rule

Anyways, whichever one was the thief must have thought that 8 year old ps4 was really worth something, I hope he got a shock from whatever fence he took it to and found out it was worth a hundred twenty or so on a good day.

anyways, pack and load just sends any old desperate people they can find. do not use them.

Movers didn't even show up to my house

Pack And Load Services - Movers didn't even show up to my house

I had an order for movers hired by this company to come to my house at 5 PM today (August 10th). The movers never showed nor did anyone contact me regarding the reason for their no-show.

I called various customer service numbers associated with this company only to be met with nothing but voice messages encouraging me to leave a message and theyll call back due to "customer service agents being busy". I did so but, hours later, still have not received a call back. I was not able to contact anyone to find out what was going on. So here I am, sitting in a mostly empty house, using my iPhone for an internet hotspot, to write this review.

It is absolutely inexcusable for your movers to simply not show up. Very unprofessional.

Update: I was contacted by the movers this morning. Was refused a discount after being told they “accidentally” booked me for today instead of yesterday, which isn't true because I have the invoice that clearly says Aug.

10th. They said they'd send someone today but, when I again asked for a discount, they said “well, you did book it last minute”. Unbelievable. First, they lied to me by telling me they booked my appointment for today when I had previously received a confirmation that they would be there yesterday.

Then they had the nerve to essentially blame me because I booked the movers "last minute". I requested a full refund and canceled the order.

I paid handsomely for 2 "professional" packers to load my large POD. A horrible looking, beat up, remarkable bird doo stained little car pulled into my driveway.

I asked what they wanted, and I was told they were here to load up my POD. One was wearing a sleeveless white undershirt. They behaved very well, and crammed everything possible into the 8 x 16 pod. Almost every piece of my furniture arrived with dents, gouges, scrapes, etc.

Also, 2 vacuum cleaners were missing, among several smaller personal items. Our move was from Delaware coast to the Southwest. Once we had a look at what was damaged and missing, we first filed a claim with PODS. Utter waste of time.

They suggested filing a claim with Pack and Load, which turned out to also be a complete waste of time. P&L stated that they were not responsible for anything since their company did not perform the unload. If the boilerplate language said that, why did they put me through the useless claim process ??

Same with PODS. I paid for transport insurance with PODS and all I can say is- unless your POD is stolen, or is set on fire enroute, you may as well forget either of these companies doing you justice.
